A brief history of the new IIT proposal
PM Vajpayee on Aug 15, 2003 had announced setting up of 5 new IITs by upgrading promising academic institutions. With that news there has been a lot of lobbying by various states, institutions, and other groups. For example, see [1] , [2], [3] .
In March 2005, the committee that was set up came up with its (see [4], [5]) recommendation of upgrading 7 engineering colleges to IITs, based on their current research record and facilities.
But in this comparison, none of the NITs were considered.

Now, confusing messages are coming out.

i hav got air 14495 in aieee.i want to leav 1st counsling so that i may get chance to appear in 2nd consling to get the droupout seats in NIT.otherwise i will take admission in galgotia college of engineering.
